The Warriors Cross Country Team ran in the blazing heat this weekend at the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University. The Warriors started the week of practice working hard to logged in some miles and speed work to prepare for the race this weekend but heat this weekend zapped some them on Saturday. The boys persevered though with Freshman Rhett Bailey leading the boys across the finish line once again with a time of 19:11. Working hard on Saturday was also Senior, Nathan Childs, crossing the line with a time of 20:19. The rest of the boys quickly followed him to the finish line: Jonathan Williams (20:59), Sam Hendricks (21:05), Sam Reynolds (21:53), Andrew Bletzinger (22:23), Jonathan Welker (22:37), Nathaniel Geiss (23:05), Sam Orme (23:36), Aaron Ebert (24:30), Andrew Haines (25:44), Ethan Ishmael (27:52), and Logan Rohrer (35:07).
The girls team struggled in the warm elements of the September Summer as well. Junior Brooke Tesmer once again led the girls to the line with a time of 25:02. She was followed by Alexa England (28:27), Anna Hendricks (31:26), Sophia Blatz (35:54), Ellie McDaniel (37:31), and Rebecca Skujins (38:25). It was good to see Rebecca on the trail this week as she continues to heal from her broken collar bone that she suffered early in the season. She is working hard to regain her strength as she rejoins the team in practice this week. Please continue to pray for all of our Warriors as many of them are working through injuries and illness.
This week the Warriors are traveling to the Saturday Night Lights Meet at Centerville High School!
