Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Varsity Basketball Team Gives Back to the Dayton Community

The Dayton Christian Warriors Girls Varsity Basketball Team recently completed a service project for the St. Vincent de Paul Dayton homeless shelter. The Warriors created ten “tie” blankets after practice this week and prayed over each blanket that it would keep someone warm but also that our Lord would touch their hearts with the love of the girls hands that made them.

With the last polar vortex, the St. Vincent de Paul shelter has had a need for blankets and the Warriors thought it would be a good way to serve and give back to our local community. Matthew 25:40 states, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”‘

St. Vincent de Paul annually serves over 100,000 people each year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing emergency assistance with shelter, utilities, food, clothing, furniture and many other services to our neighbors in need. Their mission is to provide Christ-inspired person-to-person support in an empowering effort to improve the lives of those in personal, spiritual, or material need.

The Dayton Christian Girls Varsity Basketball team includes: Camryn Collinsworth, Destiny Rome, Hannah Kitchens, Jada Rigg, Bailey Peterson, Kayla Ogburn, Tiffany McAfee, Alena Seaquist, Morgan Gibson, Kiara Sanders, and Shaina Caddy. The Warriors are coached by Head Coach Kathy Hill & Assistant Coach Shelby Maloney.
