Coed Varsity Swimming · Season Recap: Girls & Boys Swimming

Congratulations to the Dayton Christian girls & boys swimming teams and coaches on a successful swim season! Following is a short season review, while noting the All-Conference swimmers, team sportsmanship recipients, and our four new school records!

This year’s swim team consisted of 37 swimmers who daily worked hard to become better swimmers, while Glorifying God with their talents & positively representing DCS and each of their families.

Both teams competed in ten regular season swim meets, the Metro Buckeye Conference Championships and the OHSAA Sectional and District Championships throughout the 2020 season. The boys’ team saw success winning five swim meets: the CJ, Dayton Christian, Edgewood, and both tri-meets. The girls’ team won the Franklin/Valley View tri-meet and placed 2nd at the Dayton Christian Invitational. In December, the swim program hosted its 1st ever home invitational that saw eleven schools participate!

At the 2020 Metro Buckeye Conference Swimming Championships, the boys team won their 2nd ever conference title (2nd consecutive) scoring 166 total points, defeating runner-up Legacy Christian. The girls’ team won their 4th overall conference title (2nd consecutive title) scoring 137 total points, defeating runner-up Yellow Springs.

Following the conference championships, the ‘Warriors of the Water’ swam at the OHSAA Mason Sectional Meet and advanced three boys’ relays and three individuals to the OHSAA District Meet. The swim season came to an end, after the District Championship meet at Miami University (Ohio).

Congratulations to all swimmers and coaches on a great swim season and the many personal records that were accomplished!
