Coed Varsity Swimming · Warriors Ready for OHSAA Div. II Boys Swimming Southwest District Championships


 

The Warriors are primed for the OHSAA Division II Southwest District Boys Swimming Championships at Miami University on Thursday. It’s been thirteen days since the sectional swim meet and the Warriors are ready to make another splash!

Nathaniel Geiss, Sam Hendricks, Elijah Joyce, and Micah Raisch will represent the Warriors in both the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay at districts. Joyce will also swim the 100 backstroke.

The district championship meet will automatically qualify two from each swimming event to the state championship meet, along with sixteen at large qualifiers that will be selected on the basis of times recorded at the Div. II Southwest District meet.

Sean Shannon, was the last male swimmer for DC to qualify for the state swim meet. Shannon advanced to state in the 200 & 500 freestyle events during the 2006 & 2007 seasons. Most recently (2017), Kaley Pook, qualified for state for the Lady Warriors in the 1 meter dive.

Warriors Swimming Event Schedule @ Districts (approx.):
~200 Medley Relay – 10:30am.
~100 Backstroke– 1:20pm.
~400 Free Relay – 1:45pm.

Due to COVID-19, no spectators are allowed at the meet this year.
