The varsity girls & boys cross country teams competed at the Kettering Fairmont Invitational on Saturday morning. The girls team placed 7th overall & the boys team finished 10th overall, in unfavorable hot & humid race conditions.
Brianna Blake raced to a 3rd place overall finish in the girls varsity blue race. She toured the 5k course in 21:29. Brooke Tesmer was the Warriors 2nd finisher, in 38th overall place (25:11). Alexa England was 53rd (26:53), Anna Hendricks finished 57th (27:50), Isabelle Blatz was 62nd (28:37), Rebecca Skujins was 66th (29:14), Eleanore McDaniel finished 74th (30:57), and Imani Blackshear was 93rd persevering to finish another tough 5k.
On the boys side, Sam Hendricks led the Warriors with an 11th place overall finish in the boys varsity blue race. Sam’s time was 18:24 for the 5k. Jon Welker finished 50th in 20:15, Nathaniel Geiss was 66th (20:43), Sam Reynolds was 83rd (21:42), Jonathan Williams finished 89th (22:12), Sam Orme was 96th (22:53), Andrew Haines was 99th (23:08), Andrew Bletzinger was 103rd (23:33), and Jason Oliver was 104th (23:36).
Ethan Ishmael and Logan Rohrer competed in the Open Race, finishing 229th and 230th respectively. The Warriors were missing Rhett Bailey from the varsity lineup on Saturday. Rhett sustained an unfortunate injury during the football game on Friday night. Let’s be praying for Rhett and a quick recovery!
