The first OSSCA state poll was released on Monday. Dayton Christian entered the week #3 in the state for Division 3. There was no rest for the weary as last night they faced off against #2 ranked Cincinnati Country Day, a huge showdown for southwest Ohio.
DC controlled the attack early creating several chances. 11 minutes into the match Sam Reid was released on a breakaway, dribbled around the goalkeeper and was tripped by the goalkeeper in the box earning a penalty. Senior captain Noah Alexander stepped up and converted the spot kick – his 5th goal of the season. The Warriors created a few more scoring opportunities but failed to convert. They defended CCD’s late attacks with grit and returned home with a well-earned victory.
The lads return to conference play on Thursday evening at Emmanuel Christian Academy in Springfield at 6:15 pm. The next home game is Saturday, September 8 at 7:00 pm against #4 The Wellington School from Columbus.
