The Dayton Christian varsity volleyball team completed the program’s most successful regular-season campaign in five years with a straight-set victory over Emmanuel Christian Academy on Tuesday evening.
The contest was evenly matched in the first set as both teams traded points throughout until DC broke free from an 18-18 tie to rattle off seven unanswered points to close out the set. Dayton Christian would then dominate the second frame, 25-3 before Emmanuel Christian would solidly regain their footing to battle back in the third.
Both teams would exchange points and leads in the third set until DC would tie it at 22 and then claim the final three points needed to win both the set and the match.
The victory gives the Lady Warriors a final regular-season record of 14-8 to go along with an 8-4 record in the Metro Buckeye Conference.
Dayton Christian now prepares to play Preble Shawnee in the opening round of the OHSAA Sectional Tournament at Brookville High School on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 pm.
