The middle school baseball team welcomed the Sycamore Aviators to Honaker Field this evening for a non-league contest.The Warriors faced the Aviators last week in Cincinnati and struggled in the 15-2 loss. Tonight, the Warriors were able to put more points on the board and held an 11-8 lead going into the sixth inning. During the sixth, the Aviators outscored the Warriors 4-0 and changed the score to 12-11 advantage going into the seventh inning. In the seventh, the Warriors put another point on the board to send the game into extra innings, with the game tied at 12-12. In the eighth inning, the Aviators found one more hit to score another run and held the Warriors scoreless, to take the win, 13-12 over the Warriors.
Coach Raisch was happy to see the boys play a better game from the last time the two teams played. Seth Jackson got the start on the mound and pitched three innings, collecting six strikeouts. Isaac Knopp pitched an inning with two strikeouts and Justin Lotter saw two innings with six strikeouts. Knopp, Jackson, and Noah Wickline led the Warriors offensively with 2 RBI’s each in the game.
