Junior Jake Deason picked the right night to have a breakout game. With three staters in early foul trouble, Deason came off the bench and scored a career high 20 points to lead the DC boys varsity basketball team to a 59-42 non-conference win over Seven Hills. Deason was red hot, draining 4 three’s on the night to lead all scorers. He also had 4 assists and 4 rebounds in his very best varsity performance. Freshmen Brady Woodall (11) and Isaiah Edwards (10) also finished with double digit points. Sophomore Devin Dreier (9 rebounds) and Senior Seth Griswold (8 rebounds) controlled the boards with Griswold defensively shutting down the Stinger’s leading scorer most of the night. Overall the Warriors defense was stout, especially in the 3rd quarter, limiting the Stingers to just 5 points. That effort put DC up 20 points heading into the 4th quarter, essentially putting the game away. The Warriors (13-8 overall, 10-3 conference) will look to finish strong with another victory in their regular season finale against conference foe Middletown Christian on Friday night. The boys varsity game tips off at 7PM at the Warrior Center. Go Warriors!!!
