On Saturday, April 13, the middle school track teams competed at the Waynesville Middle School Invitational. The invite saw eighteen (18) schools competing for the Spartan Trophy. The girls team finished 3rd overall and the boys team finished in 18th place.
Meela Seaquist was crowned the fastest girl in the meet, by winning the 100m and the 200m dash races with a time of 13.92 seconds and 28.25 seconds respectively. Kelsey Towle saw double 3rd place finishes in both the 800m and 1600m runs with a time of 2:41 and 6:00 respectively. Esther Ross finished runner-up in the 100m hurdles in 18.51. Addie Ogburn was 4th in the 200m hurdles in 34.19. Esther Ross was 5th in the 200m hurdles. The girls 4×200 relay was 7th (Ogburn, Fair, Henrich, and Hoppe). The girls 4×400 relay was 5th (Welker, Ross, Shick, and Towle). Meela Seaquist was 4th in the long jump in 13-05.25 as well.
Evan Thompson scored the lone point for the Warriors in the 400m dash, finishing in 8th place with a time of 61.41 seconds. Gabe Smith just missed the top 8, finishing 9th in the 200m dash, in 27.43.
The middle school track team looks forward to competing again on Tuesday afternoon, April 16 in a tri-meet at Oakwood with Brookville. Go Warriors!
