The Warriors’ three-game winning streak came to end Monday night with a loss to Bellbrook 8-4 in a time-shortened 5-inning game. Gabe Knopp started on the mound for DC pitching one inning, walking 1 and giving up 1 hit and a run. With two outs in the bottom of the 1st, Alec Halter hit a big fly ball to deep center field and rounded the bases for home run to tie the game. Arty Rand pitched in the 2nd inning only walking 1 and had 1 strike out, giving up no runs. Rand looked good in his short stint on the bump. Chase McCane pitched two innings walking 1 and striking out two. After giving up 2 runs in the top of the 3rd, McCane helped out his own effort with a 2 RBI base hit scoring Dean Dershem who had singled and Sam Ferriman who had walked in front of McCane. The Warriors would only add one more run in the 4th when Shawn Collier got a base hit with bases loaded scoring Halter from 3rd. Chase Clinefelter pitched well in his second opportunity on the mound, and Nolan Ogburn made his DC pitching debut getting two strikeouts. The young Warriors look to bounce back Tuesday night when then continue their series with Franklin with a home game starting at 5pm.
