The girls varsity basketball team picked up their fifth win of the season as they defeated East Dayton Christian, 56-32. On a cold evening outside, the Warriors heated the gym up in the first quarter as four of the five starters scored in the opening quarter to take a 16 – 3 lead. The Warriors continued to play aggressive defense and distributed the ball around to their teammates as two more Warriors came off the bench to score in the second quarter. At half-time the Warriors had a commanding lead going into the locker room with a score of 30 – 12.
It was once again Youth Girls Basketball night as a nice home crowd witnessed Junior Camryn Colllinsworth lead all-scorers with 13 points, followed by sophomores Bailey Peterson and Kayla Ogburn who had 12 and 11 points respectively. Freshman Alena Seaquist scored 8 points on the evening followed by fellow freshman Kiarra Sanders and Shaina Caddy who combined for 10 points on the evening. The team played solid defense for the evening and it was a great team effort by all 10 Warriors who contributed to the win.
The Warriors second Youth Night featured the 5th & 6th grade Warriors who were recognized at half-time of the Varsity game along with their Head Coach Beth Ore and assistant James Lawson.
The Warriors play next at 6:45pm on Thursday night, Jan. 17th, @ Legacy Christian Academy.
