Warriors scored 9 runs in the last two innings to pull away from the Dixie Greyhounds for an 11-1 win. Justin Dillhoff became the first Warrior in the history of the program to hit a home run when he hit a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence for a 2 run home run to extend the DC lead to 4-1. Ryan Edgerton and Justin Dillhoff paced the Warriors with 2 hits each and Dillhoff, Jackson, Batson and Dreier each drove in 2 runs. The Warriors continue to run wild on the bases with 10 SB’s on the night with Sam DiMario leading the team with 3 stolen bases. The Warriors have now stolen 58 bases for the season and have only been caught stealing once.
Ryan Edgerton (tonight’s Player of the Game) turned in a solid 5 innings on the mound, giving up one run, on 2 hits, walking 3 and striking out 2. Seth Griswold came in for relief and pitched the final inning. The Warriors look to continue their winning ways tomorrow night (5pm) on the road against Eaton in a match-up against another SWBL foe.
